PRESS RELEASE ON SME AWARD

AgroEknor has been recognised and celebrated by BusinessDay Nigeria as one of the top 100 SME’s in Nigeria. The annual awards night held at Landmark, Victoria Island honours businesses across the country that have made commendable achievements over the year.

AgroEknor, an agricultural trading company which operates from six states across Nigeria processes and exports  over 2,000 tons of agricultural commodities annually. Through creative farmer support initiatives, the company has empowered over 5,000 smallholder farmers across Northern and South West Nigeria.

In 2016, the company created the Eknor Processing Academy with a focus on training women in post-harvest and pre-export agro-processing activities with a focus on Dried Hibiscus Flowers.  In 2018, The Nigerian Export and Import Bank recognized AgroEknor as one of the most innovative export companies in Nigeria and provided a Trade Finance facility in an effort to increase the company’s export volume. Earlier this year, The SME100 Africa recognized AgroEknor for their commitment to women empowerment and youth development.

While receiving the recognition, AgroEknor founder Timi Oke said, we are really proud of the progressive strides we have been able to make both in our local sourcing communities and in our global distribution networks. Our smallholder farmers have been the pillar of our growth over these past years, without them, we can do so little – they are the MVPs.

The recognition of AgroEknor by Businessday is well deserving.
